DEAR SANTA (I CAN EXPLAIN)
(Reilly)
October 21, 2008
Michael Tierney
Dear Santa, I can explain The way I’ve been behaving, taking God’s name in vain
Every day my older sister steals my bike Makes me up and shakes me up, I surely don’t like
I spit in her hair and I’d do it again But Santa, I can explain
Dear Santa, I can explain Why I painted tiger stripes on the family’s Great Dane
He doesn’t have no manners or much regard It takes three hours to clean up after him in the yard
They’re bigger than elves, it’s completely insane Dear Santa, I can explain
My little brother how he completely hates me It don’t take much for him to irritate me
He makes me do my very worst He started it…. he pushed me first
Santa can’t you see? I’m hoping that you see
Dear Santa, I can explain Why I toilet papered every house on Candy Cane Lane
The neighbor kids all beat me up, oh how they taunt I’ve been as good as I can be, I know just what I want
This young Paddy don’t wanna build the railway, I wanna own the train Dear Santa, I can explain
My Sunday School teacher is so boring You certainly can’t blame me for ignoring
The lines she makes me memorize Her ruler—it can pulverize
Santa can’t you see? I’m hoping that you see
Dear Santa, I can explain I wont throw anymore M-80s down the toilet or drain
I know it cost my mom and dad ‘bout 4 or 5 grand But it was really cool when it blew up—you must understand
My parents say I’m good at heart and God awful in the brain But Santa, I can explain
Just take one step closer sister and I’ll do it again
Santa, I can explain
I know you can hear me….so gimme the f**kin train
Santa, I can explain
